Renowned for its pulsing party scene, Ibiza attracts the masses all summer long with its world-famous clubs and superstar DJs. With this in mind we’ve picked out some of this summer’s hottest events, legendary clubs and the best places to dance until dawn.
Open since the 70’s, Pacha is one of the island’s oldest clubbing venues and should be on everyone’s Ibiza bucket list. Although the club is best known for House Music, there are in fact five different rooms with a range of musical styles covering everything from disco to retro pop. Pacha host themed nights and events throughout the summer months including David Guetta’s infamous ‘F*** Me I’m Famous’ event that takes place every Thursday night, often featuring a special celebrity guest.
As one of Ibiza’s most iconic clubs, Amnesia has been the backdrop to some of the island’s most unforgettable clubbing moments since the 80’s. Dance to an eclectic mixture of techno, house, trance, and dubstep as well as a range of live acts including Foam & Diamonds hosted by Paris Hilton. The party kicks off on May 27th before resident DJ, Sven Väth presents the 18th season of Cocoon, one of Amnesia’s most popular parties.
A relative newcomer to the Ibizan club scene, Ushuai is the island’s number one open-air venue and hosts one of the most anticipated opening parties of the season. Party day and night at this beach-club hotel which attracts some of the hottest DJs from around the globe. In previous years the club has played host to BBC’s Radio 1 Weekend and judging by last years line-up this year will be just as big. The action kicks off on Saturday 27 May so book your flights now!
OCEAN BEACH CLUB:
Open since 2012, Ocean Beach Club hit new heights last season hosting seven daytime parties a week including Hed Kandi, Kisstory and Ibiza Sensations. Set around a 600m2 swimming pool the club hosts ‘Poolside Sessions’ – the perfect spot to lie back and listen to Balearic beats as the sun goes down. The official opening party will be held on 19 May and the club celebrates its fifth birthday on 23 June with music from Resident DJs Tom Crane and Grant Collins plus some ‘Special Guests’ yet to be announced.
For something fresh and original head to Benimussa Park, Ibiza’s famous abandoned zoo on the outskirts of San Antonio, famous for its Zoo Project parties. Every Saturday night you will find revellers dancing the night away in the ‘Seal Pit’, covered in body paint and displaying some pretty imaginative animal-themed fancy dress. On Monday’s, the park is transformed into the Holi Garden Festival – the island’s most colourful party. Other events taking place this summer are the Wake up Ibiza Festival on 21 July, celebrating live music, meditation and yoga and the trance music festival Captured on the 11 September.
